    Is hard drive sentinel trustworthy

When did you buy it? Assuming I've found the right model, it should have a 5-year warranty.

Your way of cooling your PC?

Used to be full AIO, cpu and gpu both. Upgraded after 5 years, moved to custom loop but carried over the gpu for now. So technically I'm custom loop cpu + aio gpu, but that wasn't a choice on the poll. I went with full custom loop as my vote, since when I do eventually upgrade gpu the plan is...

AMD Readies Socket AM5 EPYC 4004 Series Server Processors

"We all"? Don't appreciate the hyberbole here. I personally wanted the split design. The reason I skipped the 5800X3D is because I didn't want to compromise, some of my common tasks being better w/ vcache but some being worse. The split CCD design of the 7950X3D means I don't have to...

Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Out Now on PC

Any notable bugs? I'm on the fence atm. I normally don't pay full price for games (waited 2 full years for HZD PC to drop to half price), but I liked HZD enough to make this one an exception. On the other hand, I'd rather buy on GoG but that means waiting (if ever). Waiting isn't bad though, if...

Unwrapping the NVIDIA B200 and GB200 AI GPU Announcements

4bit inference is old hat at this point, commonly used to get parameter sets of LLMs small enough to run on client gpus. The networks are fine-tuned (i.e., re-trained) to operate at this precision precisely to minimize additional error. A recent paper making waves proposes "1.58 bit" inference...

4K Gamers, How much VRAM do you have?

Still on my 2080ti, so 11GB (chose 12 in poll). I don't need super high framerates, and I rarely play the latest games (I wait for sales), so I can do 4k w/ it just fine.

EK-Quantum Delta² TEC Now Supports 14th Gen Intel Core CPUs

Understand, the number above is just the TEC element. That is, it is in addition to the heat from your cpu, you pay for that extra power and your cooling loop has to dissipate it. Same old problem as always with Peltier/TEC: horrifyingly energy inefficient.

Intel Ohio Fab Equipment Deliveries Delayed by Extreme Weather

I had the same thought. I assume they mean flooding somewhere else on the route to here, rather than around Columbus itself.

RATIONAL custom loop for 14900K and 4080S

Since you couldn't be bothered to quote my entire statement, I will repeat: Yes, there has to be a temperature differential, simple physics. However, if that differential is large enough, compared to the operating temperatures of the loop, that the order of components impacts the performance of...

RATIONAL custom loop for 14900K and 4080S

If there's a measurable temperature differential across different points in your loop, then your flow rate is way too low. (The differential is there, but it will be so small you can't measure it and thus it has no practical impact.) At a proper flow rate, the order of parts makes no...

AMD Readies X870E Chipset to Launch Alongside First Ryzen 9000 "Granite Ridge" CPUs

Asrock X670E PG Lightning. Had it for nearly a year now, no complaints.

AMD Readies X870E Chipset to Launch Alongside First Ryzen 9000 "Granite Ridge" CPUs

What a boneheaded move. It'd be one thing if usb4 were now being built into the chipset, but to mandate everyone must lose 4 pcie lanes to an extra chip that only a few will need... We've got these things called "slots" for a reason, they can be used for anything. No need to sacrifice one...

Elgato Unveils its Most Powerful Game Capture Solutions Yet

A modern example I know of is dual-rig stream setups. The capture and encoding is done on a separate pc so a) it doesn't load down the main rig and impact gameplay, and b) even if the main rig goes down the stream still stays live. None of these do encoding, these are raw capture. Add another 0...
