Benchmark Scores I dont have time for that.
Hi all. This is a section originally published in:

However given the work involved and the size of the table I decided to break it out. While the two topics do relate to each other closely (you should give the other a read to understand why these firmware's exist) I think on a high level they both fundamentally are two different topics.

The Firmware Matrix is compiled by me in my spare time. The files are extracted and hosted on my server by me. The information provided is read off and transcribed by me. In the event you see "(WHQL/BETA)" it means the driver version and firmware versions were the same between WHQL and Beta.

In every case in which the BETA and WHQL driver version matched, the FW versions were checked just in case.

If the driver versions changed but the firmware was the same, they were uploaded anyway.

Since FW versions can be the same across several driver versions regardless of other changes to the driver; I have put a "" next to firmware's that change between driver versions OR for major naming convention changes for ease of skimming.

Should you see any discrepancies or incorrect links feel free to let me know here.

Alternatively you can get this collection without the pretty spreadsheet look on github as fast as my automation fires.

Thanks. I'm pretty style blind when it comes to tables. Is that what your looking for?

Much better, use short month names, get rid of () around beta/whql.

101.4575 is both beta and whql?

Check if green text for the link looks better than the orange dot

yeah its the only one.

Thoughts on green text vs the dot? Seems to be faster to skim it with the green bolded.

Not sure, green seems to suggests "better" and not "changed"

I can do something neutral like the bright purple. dark purple is too close to blue when scrolling quickly to catch your eye. I dont want to do the links in the orange because that seems much too bright.

I almost feel like the purple could confuse people though, since it looks a lot like a "previously clicked link" color.

With the latest Firmware from my A750 LE - the IDLE Load dropped some Watts down. I'm using a 165Hz FHD LG-Display. It went down from 50 to around 35 Watts. Nice to see here Development too.

tyvm for your work, including your flash tool, the guide, and this collection / overview of different fw bios...

didn't even know it was possible to downgrade FW / Bios ..

during the last 2-4 months I started to have all sorts of random crashes and weired bugs,
can't exactly pinpoint it but I feel it was with one of the first 4xxx or 45xx releases.

first I thought it might be my new MB, because I replaced my old MSI X570A-Pro with a Gigabyte X570S UD, in order to take advantage of ASPM L1 / L0s and lower Arc idle power draw..
because MSI doesn't have it, or at least back then they hadn't
(I believe they finally rolled out ASPM support for AM4 chipsets on their boards recently, after moths/years > too late for me)

but, it used to work just fine, from Feb to maybe May,

then still not many problems with games, but 'rare' random blue screens like 1-2 times every 2 weeks, all not during gaming, but while on desktop, eg. browsing the net with firefox.

all related to intel firmware/gpu driver component stuff (cant recall the name exact module right now)

and it just even got worse that after installing 4644 in August ,
which is for the very first time when I noticed that the reported fw bios version in GPU-Z had suddenly changed,

and now I started to have severe problems of all sorts, games crashing, not only the newest ones which always often are buggy for everyone, but also older ones that used to work fine before:
Last Epoch freezing and causing steamwebservicehelper to crash, etc... /NfS Unbound crashing on launch, BG3 cras
firefox causing blue screens, yt 4k 60 fps videos causing freezes / lockups stutter until shutting down process..

did some research, and found out that it was a forced fw/bios flash indeed with 4644, and as it looks like,

some people even have allegedly broken partial functionalities or even completely 'bricked' their custom models from asrock / acer eg.,
with that standard intel package, which might wasnt supposed to flash all those cards but it did,
or, flashed the wrong files, or it were the 'right' ones, but with wrong configurations in it .. I dont know.

be that may, the support forum was suddenly full with error & problem reports, mostly acer cards & fan problems, but also asrock which now had hdmi / monitor issues.

but also those with standard Intel 'reference' cards started to report that they think something's off now..

now, I tried to revert to older drivers, even rolled back windows updates, did the sfc scannow / dism stuff and whatnot,
checked ram with memtest+ , cpu with prime95 , did some standard 3dmark benches, furmark extreme torture tests (that one was weired.. seems to only cause 80-91% load on GPU while real games often cause constant 99-100%)
anway, they all passed, they seem okay, couldnt notice any error msg or gfx glitches in standard benchmark/tests..

nothing helped, not even downgrading drivers it seemed, at least not for all of the problems I think were new (cant prove it yet)

and then I noticed that the bios/fw always remains the newest ones, no way to automatically downgrade with olde packages,
just by installing them.. those only automatically do the upgrades.

googled, and found Intels answer on their site: fw/bios downgrades are not possible / not intended ?

Great :( and what if there's really something wrong with one of the versions ?

luckily I found your thread here, so ty again..
and also ty techpowerup, for your collection of all driver version packages & changelog files,

because intel now thinks it's wise to only list the last 2 versions on there site (most current whql / most recent beta)

also not so great. what are they thinking?
they deliberately complicate ways to fix things with broken new drivers/fw updates by limiting access & ways to manually downgrade. why?

Hey yall,

Just wanted to update this. This driver cycle (101.4824) introduces a significant naming convention change for the firmware. I think it is notable for those that may be using the tool or any kind of automated flashing efforts.

As always the file names are copied vanilla from the driver package itself.

The changes are as follows:

- Naming has been introduced to specify exact models of vendor cards. IE: "Asrock A380" is now "Asrock Challenger A380" (which can make it easier to segment a product stack.)
- Acer g100 oprom firmware has been removed
- Intel golden edition A750 fw has been added
- Vanilla Intel card firmwares are no longer distinguishes by EU count. Instead the files have been given proper names. IE: "DG2 448" is now "Intel A750".

While the versions have not changed for this release, I have signified them with a " " regardless to reflect this change.

New Beta driver. Nothing version wise that is different. However the driver did include a new firmware blob named "Asus Dual A380". I wasnt able to find a card by this name, or info regarding an ARC gpu that might include a bios switch. I also could not find any info regarding Asus releasing an ARC GPU (other than the DG1 in prebuilts).

However around june and july there were updates to the store in which you could add an a380 to prebuilts you could order from Asus' website.

I usually don't update this thread and only update the OP each release. I thought this was a neat discovery however. Maybe Asus will be releasing a card in the future and Intel is seeding the drivers with the card firmware in preparation. Since I have yet to see an "Asus A380" in real life.

Based on reports that I saw on Reddit, it seems that the latest driver, 4952, updated the firmware for the LE cards to 1068 from 1064, I have an Acer A770 and it still 1064, there's no mention for this update inside the Release Notes.

I was already editing it as you posted this. The firmware changes have been marked. I was away from home so I could only get to the updates this evening. I still think same day as general release is pretty fast though.

Yes. The Firmware went up to 1068 (Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition). The Idle-Power Consumption is now much lower at 144hz. But still high at 165hz (all Full HD). Intel is making it the right Way - what also could changed... i don't know.

This thread isnt really for specific card assistance and neither is the guide; but no. Intel IGSC ignores the force flag for FWdata. It may be possible to modify the check statements in the source but that is at the bottom of my list, and as of now Isn't worth the effort as the fwdata segment hasn't to date contained or contributed to any card performance characteristics. All of that is held in primary FW or the oprom.

I found a firmware and OPROM that is not present in the matrix, probably is only for Acer cards.
Inside Acer's A770 support there's a driver dating from 21/03/2023 version 3962, but this driver version is not present in the matrix and checking the date, the version is outdated.
I downloaded the driver here and used the tool to check the files and everything have different versions none present in the matrix.

Hm I only download drivers from TPU as stated in the OP. I don’t want to include oem drivers so that the matrix works with all systems. It’s possible it was simply missed though. Thanks I will look into this later and determine if I can add it. I have a few cards to test on.

Don't bump often, but today there was a driver oddity. In this case 101.5081 and 101.5122 are the same driver.

This is how the page looks.

1702597829627.png

With the names and release notes merged.

The release documentation itself states the following as today was the public release of the core ultra branding.

1702597933169.png

This will show as an anomaly in the fw matrix as no other driver versions have ever been merged.

Hello @Solaris17

The OPROM Code for Acer's A770 is the same as the other cards.

When reading the specific OPROM_D file it says:
OPROM DATA Version: 14 00 2C 04 00 00 00 00
OPROM CODE Version: 14 00 28 04 00 00 00 00

But scanning my HW it's 14 00 2C 04 00 00 00 00 for both.
