Computex 2023 saw Corsair introduce its iCUE Link ecosystem of products that use a USB bus to have more data going back and forth. This allows for more devices to be connected to a single controller hub while also incorporating useful sensors which can be monitored via software and be used to set up performance metrics for fans and cooling solutions alike. We have covered a few examples of the ecosystem already in the form of the iCUE Link XG3 GPU block, the iCUE Link QX120 RGB fan, as well as the iCUE Link H150i RGB CPU cooler. The fans in particular were intriguing because, beyond just the plentiful RGB on board, they introduced a new fan bearing as well as integrated thermal sensors—just happened to cost more than what I was comfortable with.

When Corsair announced the new iCUE Link RX120 RGB fans, I wondered whether this would be a more affordable version that cuts down on the RGB LEDs in favor of pure performance. Indeed, this appears to be the case, with only centrally placed LEDs allowing for longer blades to theoretically push more air through the fan. Gone is the thermal sensor, although if this results in a lower price point then I'm still keen. The RX120 RGB comes in black or white colors to help coordinate the colors of your system build and also uses Corsair's AirGuide stator vanes we saw put to good use in the AF120 RGB Elite fans before. In fact, I do see these as a static pressure optimized version of those AF120 RGB Elites while offering iCUE Link support too. Thanks to Corsair for providing review samples to TechPowerUp and let's begin our coverage with a look at the product specifications in the table below.
